Faces from Dante's Inferno

Hello! Let's turn serious for a moment.

I am starting to read "The Divine Comedy" otherwise known as "Dante's Inferno" poem. It is HUGE. And it is filled to the brim of references of historical figures and stories. The poem itself is actually an allegory of the underworld.

Naturally, this is a difficult subject because Dante made it quite complicated with several rings of hell and many metaphors and descriptive methods. So, I decided to read this little book about some of the people Dante talks about in the text.

This book is simple and concise. It offers historical information as well as interpretation of the many references in the allegory. I enjoyed very much to read it because I love all things mythology and it has quite a connection to Hades' underworld in Greek mythology.

However, it also has many religious references and many historical figures that I had never even heard of. Overall, the book does its job. I am ready to read Dante's text with this as a supplemental guide throughout the journey.

The author keeps things simple and descriptive and that is very much appreciated for such a difficult and creative subject.

Overall:
