Beastly (Kendra Chronicles #1)

I'm excited to get to this book review as it is one of my favorite ones ever! You will come across many fairy tale retellings in this blog from books I've read or books I've yet to read soon!

"Beastly" is a beauty and the beast retelling set in modern times and in New York city. The story is typical, we have a young guy who is perfect physically, popular and very rich. This guy, Kyle Kingsbury, ends up messing with a witch, Kendra, who does not like the joke he did on her at the school dance. Kyle is perfect in every way due to his Dad having taught him to be selfish, self-centered and obsessed with image. 

However, Kyle gets cursed to be a beast for 2 years by Kendra and ends up in the solitude of his torment at a townhouse outside of NYC with his maid and a blind tutor. But Kyle did one nice thing prior to the enchantment, he gave a white rose to a kind but plain girl at the school dance. He has the potential to be more than what the outside portrays and he is put to the ultimate test against time in order to make Linda fall in love with him before the transformation is permanent. 

I absolutely love this book and I read it often. Kyle changes his name to Adrian King and focuses on gardening and growing roses. He reads, he learns and he focuses on helping Linda be happy. They fall in love just in time and Adrian decides to have a better mark on the world than Kyle Kingsbury ever had.
