Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (HP #2)

I love the family interactions of the Weasleys in this book! Dobby the house elf wants to protect Harry from danger and finds many obstacles to try and prevent him from attending Hogwarts. However, Dobby forgot Harry is a Gryffindor (clearly) and Harry and Ron managed to arrive at the castle in time. However, Harry starts hearing a weird voice that no one else can hear and suspects that there is a dangerous monster roaming around. Naturally, the trio investigate and come to the conclusion that the Heir of Slytherin has released the monster in the chamber of secrets in order to kill muggles. 

People, fortunately, only get petrified by the monster and not killed unlike the time the chamber was opened when Hagrid was framed for the murder of Moaning Myrtle back in Voldemort's time. Harry ends up putting to rest his "Slytherin" qualities by pulling Gryffindor's sword from the sorting hat, thanks to Dumbledore's phoenix Fawkes, and proving he is a true Gryffindor. 

Naturally, Voldemort is behind everything thanks to the first horcrux in the form of his diary. Harry turns out the stronger person by killing the basilisk and destroying the horcrux with its venom.
